7-time Grammy Awards-winning singer Al Jarreau dies at 76


Renowned RnB and Jazz singer, Al Jarreau passed on Sunday morning.

A statement on his Facebook page disclosed the news:

“It is with the deepest of sadness that we inform you Al Jarreau passed away this morning, at about 6:00am LA time. He was in the hospital, and kept
comfortable by his wife, son, and a few of his family and friends. A small, private service is planned, for immediate family only. No public service is planned yet this time,” it said.


Jarreau had been touring almost non-stop for 50 years and had earlier announced that he’ll be retiring.

He won 7 Grammys for some of his hits through the ’70s and ’80s including 
“Mornin’,” “After All, “We’re In This Love Together” and “Moonlighting”.

He was also one of the featured vocalists on “We Are the World”.
